Portmeirion

Portmeirion is a bit of a longer drive from Devil's Bridge, but is a thoroughly rewarding destination. Famous internationally as the location for The Prisoner TV series starring Patrick McGoohan, this unique, hyper-Italianate architectural phenomenon was the work of Sir Clough William-Ellis. It also inspired Noel Coward in the writing of his play, Blithe Spirit while staying in the village.

Today the village is a famous tourist attraction and hotel destination. As well as the centre of the village itself, there are several picturesque walks taking you up into the woods above, and down to the spectacular beach below. Highly recommended.
