Aberdyfi

From Ynyslas beach, tantalisingly close across the river Dyfi estuary, you can see the small beach town of Aberdyfi (Aberdovey). Driving to it unfortunately takes a lot longer than it looks, but it is thoroughly worth the trip (about an hour from the barn).

A lovely sandy beach and dunes faces a pleasant terrace of smart coffee shops and restaurants. Highly recommended for families, be it for some solid sandcastle-building, or more adventurous forays into the water with dinghies or paddleboards. Watch out for the jellyfish!
